Bathroom Construction - Part 1

We are in the process of remodeling our bathroom. This is what it looked like a couple of weeks ago. Jimmy, a friend from church that does remodeling, tore everything out but, my handy-dandy husband is putting it back together. Since this picture the wall paper has been stripped, the cement board has been put around the tub and plumbing and electrical updated. But progress is slow.

I appreciate the hard work of my husband. He spends about 30 hour a week just in sermon preparation plus time in prayer, counseling and chores around the church and house but still he is finding time to do this not-too-fun job. I am excited to see how the room will turn out. It is a small bathroom (5' x 8') which makes the work harder in many ways. Jimmy took the old tub out alone (cannot figure out how he managed that) and our son Jason helped Dale put the new tub in when he was in town (cast iron tub at a light weight of only 380 pounds.)

Our guest room is currently full holding the vanity, cabinets, mirror, etc. (Our son had to sleep in the midst of these things while he was here. Our goal is to finish the bathroom before he and his lovely wife Chelsy come visit this summer so they can have the whole room!) Our foyer is holding the tile and the granite place is supposed to deliver the vanity top tomorrow.

I will do a post occasionally on the bathroom to keep you up-to-date. Please pray for us (Dale) as we (he) work to get this completed. I have offered to help but it is really tight in there so I have been useful only for short periods of time for easy stuff. Thank you, my darling, for your hard labors.

  1. Woah! I didn't even recognize the bathroom. Like we said before, we can have some good family bathroom bonding this summer :)

  2. Hopefully we can do our bonding in the den. BUT we may end up sharing a bathroom if Dad doesn't have a chance to finish it. Oh well, at least we have a bathroom!!
