Church Spring Camping Trip 2011

Twice a year our church goes camping at one of our state parks for two nights – Thursday and Friday. It is great fun. The weekend before Easter we all went to Fountainebleau State Park.  The weather was great and we had a wonderful time. There were approximately 24 children and 13 adults. Below are some pictures of our fun!!

God has bless our church family with a great love for each other and I thank Him for these times we have to spend together in fun, food and fellowship.

Old State Capitol

  This past Saturday the church had a field trip to the Old State Capitol in downtown Baton Rouge. We had about 20 kids and about 10 adults, so there was a good group. First we looked around outside while we waited for everyone to arrive.

Then we went inside to look around and watch a short film on the history of the building.

 

The building has a beautiful stained glass ceiling above the spiral staircase.

All in all we had a wonderful time in downtown BR on a beautiful spring day.

Thank you to our Veterans

This past Monday our Governor held a ceremony to present medals to those who have served our country. My son-in-law, Chad, was one of those veterans.

So often I don’t think about the sacrifices that have been made in the past and are being made now. I am thankful for this reminder.
